Housing Research

The Florida Survey Research Center (FSRC) has extensive experience in research on many aspects of housing. The FSRC has implemented a wide range of studies related to housing. Past clients include the State of Florida, the University of Florida, the Florida Real Estate Commission, Neighborhood Housing and Development Corporation, and many cities and counties in Florida. Some of these research projects are described below:

  • A study of manufactured housing communities’ need for tie-downs in the state of Florida for the Florida Department of Community Affairs
  • A comprehensive statewide assessment of multi-family housing in Florida
  • A study of Florida homeowners about federal and state real estate disclosures
  • A study of the impact of termites and termite protection on Florida homes built in the 1990s
  • Studies of resident’s attitudes in several manufactured housing communities throughout the United States
  • A comprehensive study of housing in Alachua County, Florida
  • Study of Florida Association of Realtors® members
  • Affordable housing study for The Villages, Florida
  • Affordable housing study for Palm Coast, Florida
  • Study of home owners who participated in Sarasota County’s Down Payment Assistance Program
  • Needs assessment on housing and other services for Lee County, Florida
  • Study of former residents of public housing communities in Tampa, Florida
  • Study of organizations that collect preservation-related data on affordable housing
  • Study of citizen opinions’ on allocation of funds for housing and services in Hillsborough County, Florida
  • Study of SHIP Administrators in Florida
  • Study of disabled residents in public housing for the St. Petersburg Housing Authority

The FSRC can implement surveys of a variety of groups – homeowners (nationwide, statewide, citywide, or in specific neighborhoods), tenants, special populations – and/or provide comprehensive assessments of the housing needs in specified areas.
