In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Morrill Act, there will be a community-wide historical retrospective titled UF: The Past is Prologue. The event is the formal contribution from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and showcases the Department of History. It is co-sponsored by the Humanities Center and the Public Sphere, the Center for Women’s Studies and Gender Research, and the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program. It will be held at the Bob Graham Center with the support of Professor Emeritus, former University Provost and current Directory of the Graham Center David Colburn, who will also moderate the panel discussion that includes Steve Noll and Paul Ortiz from History, Patricia Hilliard-Nunn from African American Studies, former Dean Madelyn Lockhart, and former Mayor-Commissioner Jean Chalmers.
