Graduate Student Erin Zavitz awarded 2014 Dan David Scholarship Prize

Erin Zavitz has been awarded a 2014 Dan David Scholarship Prize. Erin is currently writing her dissertation, “Revolutionary Memories: Celebrating and Commemorating the Haitian Revolution, 1804-2004,” under the supervision of Dr. David Geggus. The scholarship will support the final stages of writing and a follow-up research trip to Haiti this summer. Funded by the Dan David Foundation, the $15,000 Prize is awarded to 10 graduate students from universities across the globe whose research corresponds with the respective theme and 10 students from the Foundation’s partner institution, Tel Aviv University. The 2014 theme is memory and its variants in three time dimensions: past, present, and future. Erin applied for the past time dimension which was History & Memory.
