Jessica Harland-Jacobs on Memory in Ireland and the UK

UF History’s Dr. Jessica Harland-Jacobs has written a piece on the politics of commemoration for the popular academic-research-turned-popular website, The Conversation.  She discusses the public discourse over the 1916 Rising in Ireland and the Battle of the Somme, which occurred in the same year and involved many Irish soldiers, in the United Kingdom.  You can read the entire article here:
