GAINESVILLE, Fla. — ACCENT Speakers Bureau at the University of Florida will bring Vince Gilligan, the creator and executive producer of AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” to campus Nov. 12.

Gilligan is the man behind the Emmy Award-winning crime drama that the Guinness Book of World Records has called the highest-rated show of all time. The September 2013 series finale had 10.3 million viewers.

Gilligan received the 2008 Writers Guild for Episodic Drama and accepted a Peabody Award to honor the show’s first season. The American Film Institute named “Breaking Bad” one of the best shows of 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Before “Breaking Bad,” Gilligan worked as a writer and executive producer on “The X- Files,” sharing Golden Globe Awards in 1996 and 1997 for Best Dramatic Series. He co-created Fox Television’s “The Lone Gunmen” and wrote the films “Wilder Napalm” and “Home Fries.”
