Decals

All individuals who wish to park a motor vehicle on campus during restricted hours must display a valid parking decal or permit, or park in a metered space or paid parking facility and pay the appropriate fee.

Campus Parking Restrictions

Decal restricted hours for most lots and garages on campus are 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Decal restrictions are lifted outside these hours and on weekends and University holidays. However, a few areas have different hours of restriction, so please be sure to always check the signs at the lot or garage where you plan to park. The specific hours of restriction for each area will be posted on the signs.

The purchase of a parking decal does not guarantee a parking space.

Returns

Semester or annual parking decals may be returned for a full refund within 15 calendar days from purchase (unless a permit has been issued for more than 15 days prior to the purchase of the decal). However, no refunds will be issued unless the decal (or remains of the decal) is returned to the TAPS Customer Relations Office.

Annual decals returned after 15 days will receive a prorated refund.

Replacements

Replacement decals may be purchased in the TAPS Customer Relations Office for a $25.00 replacement fee. The replacement fee is waived for students whose eligibility has changed. Payment may be made by cash, check, money order or credit/debit card.

  • If you are replacing an existing decal, you must bring your old decal to our office before a replacement is issued.
  • If you are replacing a lost or stolen decal, you must fill out an affidavit in our office before a replacement is issued.

Changing Your Vehicle

If you purchase a new vehicle or begin permanently driving a vehicle other than the primary vehicle listed on your account, you’ll need to bring your vehicle registration and a photo ID to the TAPS Customer Relations Office in order to have your account updated with the new vehicle information.

If you already own a valid UF parking decal and have a primary vehicle registered with Transportation and Parking Services, you may use your decal to drive another vehicle temporarily (such as a rental car) without updating your account. However, your decal CANNOT BE USED in a vehicle which is already registered or affiliated to another current University of Florida or Shands student, faculty or staff member.
