- Office of Research Annual Report
Every day University of Florida researchers create new technologies, discover industry breakthroughs, spawn new economic opportunities and pave the way for the next generation of leaders.
From developing an electronic bomb fuse that proved to be vital during World War II to inventing the most popular sports drink in the world, Gatorade, UF researchers continue to uncover ideas that change the world.
Last year alone, UF researchers received a record of $724 million in research awards.
That’s where we come in.
The University of Florida Office of Research provides programs and services to support UF faculty and staff in their research efforts.
We identify grant opportunities, manage proposals and awards, protect intellectual property, work with potential industry partners, highlight research achievements and more.
From proposal development assistance to technology transfer, our various units and offices assist investigators at every stage of the research process.
The Office of the Vice President for Research oversees several centers and institutes with university-wide missions and varying research specialties.
Dr. David Norton leads the many efforts of the Office of Research to stimulate and support competitive research at the University of Florida.
The Office of Research is located in Grinter Hall, with several units spread throughout the University of Florida campus.
