Sustainable UF’s Collection Day Event is your one stop drop! Students, faculty and staff are invited to stop by the NW corner of the O’Connell Center parking lot (near the entrance at 2nd Avenue) on December 6 to conveniently drop off any unwanted items including household items, hazardous waste, school supplies, UF Assets and IT Equipment and more.

  • UF Facilities Services Recognized for Sustainability

University of Florida Facilities Services Central Stores was awarded by the ULSCA (University Logistics and Supply Chain Association) with the 2017 Sustainability Award.

Whether it’s as small scale as a staff meeting or party, or as complex as a conference, we have the tools you’ll need to help minimize your negative impact on the environment, and maximize your ability to be an engaging change agent for a wide audience. Join Sustainable UF Wednesday, December 6 for our Fall Collection Day! This event makes it easy and convenient to get rid of unwanted household items, clothing, hazardous waste, old electronics, furniture, appliances, and non-perishable food items. Collection Day will take place on Wednesday, December 6, from 7:30 am – 1:00 pm in the NW corner of the O’Connell Center Parking Lot.   • NEW: 24 Hours of Reality: Watch Party
    Dec. 6 | 5:15pm | Gator Wesley

The Climate Reality Project Gainesville Chapter is organizing a Kickoff Watch Party, Monday, December 4th, for the seventh-annual, broadcast of the 24 Hours of Reality – a star-studded, 24-hour live event focused on the climate crisis and its solutions. The event will be at Gator Wesley, 1380 W. University Drive (near the UF campus) beginning at 5:15 p.m. There will also be local Climate Reality Leaders and others speaking, along with discussions.   • NEW: Environmental Preservation Trip: Florida Alternative Breaks

Florida Alternative Breaks (FAB), through the David and Wanda Brown Center for Leadership and Service, sends out service-learning trips based on specific social issues during academic breaks. We believe education, strong direct service, and reflection are among several key components that set the FAB experience apart in terms of growth and impact, both for our participants and the communities we serve.
