Welcome to Clemson University Orientation for 2014 fall semester.

Things to Know

Orientation for you is a one-day program. The Orientation and Transition Fee is $220. This fee provides for the complete orientation experience, which includes the summer program and Clemson Connect in August before classes start. This is a series of integrated programs designed to assist new students in their successful transition to Clemson.

Your orientation session begins with check-in at 8 a.m. in the Hendrix Student Center and concludes by 5:30 p.m. after course registration. Lunch is included.

On campus housing is not included in the fee, but is available in Manning Hall. Room includes a pillow, linens and towels. We recommend that you pack light. Students are required to leave the residence hall and return their room keys/fobs by noon. There is no storage space available for luggage, backpacks or other personal items. Options for you during online registration:

  • You may add pre-orientation housing for the night before your session at an additional cost of $20.
  • You may add post-orientation housing for the night of your session at an additional cost of $20.

How to Register a Guest

During online registration, you may add one or two guests. The fee for each guest is $25; this fee covers their materials, the program and lunch. Guests will attend their own orientation program, which does not follow the student program. Guests are responsible for their own accommodations; we do not provide any housing options for your guests.

Orientation Pre-Guide

The 2014 Transfer Online Pre-Guide to Clemson University is available for your reference. This pre-guide has information to help you prepare for the orientation session on campus. It is recommended that both you and your parents read the guide before attending orientation. The guide contains information, such as:

  • items to complete prior to attending orientation, including placement tests and medical clearance information
  • travel information
  • orientation schedule information for both the student program and the parent/guest program
  • link to the orientation parking pass

We do not recommend that you print the pre-guide. You will receive printed materials at the orientation session. Also, review the New Student Checklist and FAQs for helpful info.
