New Student and Family Programs

The Office of New Student and Family Programs establishes transitional programs and supportive services that cultivate student and family engagement in the Clemson community.

image Clemson Connect

Clemson Connect is designated for new Clemson students and is an integral part of your transition to Clemson life and the Clemson family. Clemson Connect is a series of activities and programs taking place before your first semester classes start to help you make academic and social connections, which will contribute to your success here.

CONNECTIONS Peer Mentoring Program

The CONNECTIONS Peer Mentoring Program is designed to assist incoming first-year students of color with their adjustment to the Clemson University environment. First-year students (mentees) from culturally diverse backgrounds and majors are paired with upperclass student leaders of color who serve as mentors and role models.

Orientation

The purpose of the student orientation at Clemson University is to ensure that new students have a successful transition and integration into college life. The program promotes discussion among parents, new students, continuing students, and faculty and staff on the expectations and perceptions of the campus community.

Parents' Council and Family Programs

Did you know? All parents of Clemson students are automatically members of the Clemson University Parents' Council. The Parents' Council plans such events as Family Weekend, receptions for accepted students, and back-to-school socials. Get involved - volunteer to serve on a committee and/or apply to be a member of the Parents' Council Advisory Board. We welcome your support and participation.

Rising Star Award

Showcase your leadership talents and contributions to the Clemson community. The Rising Star Award is given annually each Spring semester and is open to current first and second year Clemson students. Find out more!

Veterans at Clemson

Learn more about how Clemson supports you as a veteran and a student. Ask us about the Student Veteran Resource Center, located in 204 Tillman Hall.

Student Learning Outcomes

Student Affairs professionals have a particular responsibility for ensuring that our campus is a true learning community committed to providing "transformative" educational experiences for all students.

Student Leadership and Involvement Opportunities

New Student and Family Programs provides two excellent opportunities for students to get involved and give back to Clemson. We hire 45 ambassadors each year to work during summer and January orientations and we recruit more than 250 Welcome Leaders to be the "face" of the university during Clemson Connect. We would love to have you as part of our team.
