Staying in Touch, to students, summer 2011

Dear Students,

I trust that each of you is having a summer break full of unique experiences. We would like to help you keep in touch and represent the Clemson Family in the best ways possible. Although most of you are not physically on campus, it is still important to stay connected to the University. There are several ways to embody Clemson’s ideals and maintain contact over the summer, including

  • continuing relationships with advisers and professors, you never know when a course or job opportunity will open up;
  • continually checking in with SIS in order to tweak your fall schedule and look for class openings,
  • updating Clemson with study abroad, job and internship photos via facebook.com/clemsonstudentaffairs;
  • checking in with organizations using OrgSync ( OrgSync@clemson.edu) and starting to think about organizations you are interested in joining this fall;
  • notifying your advisers, professors or department if you get a job or internship.

I want to remind you that Clemson is interested in your summer engagements, and we want each of you to stay connected either through our website, contact with an adviser or even observing Solid Orange Friday in your current place of residence. Whether in Clemson or elsewhere, remember that you are always representing the University. Each student is an ambassador for Clemson through their summer travel, work and experiences! I hope that you take the time to touch base with the Division of Student Affairs through any of the various forms listed above. In fact, the 1st, 10th and 15th person to post a few summer photos on our Facebook page will receive a $50 gift certificate to Campus Banner + Design (CB+D) for your own canvas print, posters, banners or more! CB+D is a student-run business that can help you preserve your fun summer memories and it is located right on Clemson’s campus.

I want to thank you for striving to help reach our goal of becoming the most engaged, satisfied and successful student body in the nation. I look forward to hearing about your experiences and I anxiously await the return of our spirited student body, as well as the arrival of our new incoming class!

Sincerely,

Gail A. DiSabatino
Vice President for Student Affairs
