Bridge students enroll at TCTC for their freshman year and start their course work in the fall semester. To be admitted to Clemson for the sophomore year, Bridge students are required to earn a minimum of 30 transferable semester credit hours and a 2.5 grade point average during their freshman year at TCTC. (Course credits and GPA must be earned after high school graduation.) Students who satisfy Bridge academic requirements will be admitted to Clemson for the subsequent fall semester without being required to resubmit a Clemson admission application. Students who do not satisfy the Bridge academic requirements will be encouraged to apply for admission to Clemson at a later date.
While grades earned at TCTC will not subsequently be included in a student's Clemson grade point ratio (GPR), the grades and credit hours a student earns at TCTC will count toward determining the student's eligibility for the South Carolina LIFE scholarship.
Community living is one of the most important experiences for a first-year college student. Bridge students live in four-person apartments at Highpointe of Clemson, located four miles from TCTC and two miles from Clemson. Upper-class resident advisers coordinate social and academic programs and are available to assist students throughout the year.
Bridge participants pay the Bridge program fee, housing fee, housing utility prepayment and TCTC tuition and fees.
The program fee covers academic success programs, health care services, orientation, campus recreation and student activities provided by Clemson and TCTC, as well as program administration and facilities costs. The program fee is $2,425 ($1,400 in the fall semester and $1,025 in the spring semester).
The utility prepayment and fee for housing includes a bedroom and private bath in a four-bedroom unit as well as utilities, cable and Internet service. The cost for housing in a four-bedroom unit at Highpointe is $7,683 for the academic year ($3,743 for the fall semester and $3,940 for the spring semester). The housing utility prepayment for the academic year is $750 ($375 per semester).
Tri-County tuition and fees are not included in the costs above. TCTC tuition and fees for the upcoming academic year will be set in late spring or early summer. TCTC tuition and fees vary based on residency classification and the number of credit hours in which a student is enrolled. Please visit the TCTC Website for the current tuition and fees for full-time students. Select “Paying for College" and follow the appropriate links.
The schedule of fees is available at tctc.edu/clemsonbridge. Click on the "Fee Schedule for Bridge Participants" link. All Bridge and TCTC fees are subject to change.
TCTC processes and awards all federal and state financial aid during Bridge students' freshman year. Students should complete and submit the FAFSA (available online at FAFSA.gov) and enter TCTC's federal code-004926. Students who have already submitted their FAFSA coded to Clemson should log in to their submitted FAFSA form at FAFSA.gov and add TCTC's federal code. For additional information regarding financial aid, including deadlines and forms, please visit the TCTC Financial Aid webpage.
