Dr. Richardson holds a BS in Biology (University of Memphis), an MS in Dairy Science and a PhD in Animal Physiology (both from Clemson University); she is a Professor of Animal and Veterinary Science. She has worked with undergraduate students in multiple ways since 1976 and has been recognized for her teaching, academic advising and service to students. She began teaching the freshman seminar course in 1992 and was named course coordinator in 1998. In 2002, Dr. Richardson was named the Director of the Academic Success Center at Clemson University. Under her leadership, the center and its programs have been recognized numerous times at the national and international levels. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling with her family and working out at Anytime Fitness.
Dr. Christine Murphy, Special Programs Coordinator Christine C. Murphy
Special Programs Coordinator
Dr. Murphy holds a BS degree in Math and a PhD in Plant Physiology, both from Clemson University. She has served as the Special Programs Coordinator for the Academic Success Center at Clemson University since February 2007, with a leadership role for data analysis and assessment of ASC programs. She has over 19 years of experience in the data processing and analysis field, and has 12 years of experience in higher education. She has taught the undergraduate university skills course to incoming freshmen, and coordinates the workshop program. In her spare time, Christine enjoys gardening, beekeeping and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Laurel Whisler, Supplemental Instructor Coordinator Laurel Whisler
Supplemental Instruction Coordinator
Mrs. Whisler has a BA in Music from Earlham College, an MA in Music from Penn State, and an MLS from Indiana University. She has 15 years of experience as an academic librarian, with 10 of those years in the Upstate. Most recently, Laurel was the College Librarian & Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Cornell College in Iowa. Laurel began working in the ASC in 2011 as SI Coordinator and ED 111 Instructor. In her spare time, she enjoys camping and fishing with her husband and daughter, quilting, knitting socks, reading, and following Cubs and Braves baseball.
Ms. Justine Chasmar, Tutoring Coordinator Justine Chasmar
Ms. Chasmar holds a BS and MS in Mathematical Sciences, both from Clemson University. While an undergraduate at Clemson, Justine served as an SI leader and tutor in the ASC, sparking her interest in academic support. Before joining the ASC as the Tutorial Services Coordinator in February 2013, she served as the coordinator for tutoring and SI and taught the freshman seminar course at Georgia Tech for three years. Her areas of interest in higher education are motivation, peer support, and retention. Outside of work, Justine enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and watching movies.
Ms. Lori McGregor, Academic Counselor Lori G. McGregor
Ms. McGregor has a BA in History with English minor from LSU and an MEd in Student Personnel in Higher Education from UGA. She also has earned her Educational Specialist (EdS) in Counseling from LSU. Before coming to Clemson, she worked at LSU for nine years as an academic advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences. Ms. McGregor has been an academic counselor in the ASC since 2002, offering individual sessions with students who want to improve their academic performance. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, enjoying nature, boating, reading, working jigsaw puzzles, socializing with friends, or simply relaxing with her husband and her gray cat.
Ms. Elizabeth McWilliams, Academic Coach Elizabeth G. McWilliams
Ms. McWilliams is the Academic Coach. She received her BA in Elementary Education and her MEd in Special Education from Clemson University. Elizabeth taught in public schools for 28 years and at Clemson University in the Department of Special Education. She began working at the ASC as an Academic Coach in September 2008. When not working with students, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading, and yoga.
Ms. Donna McCubbin, Academic Coach Donna McCubbin
Ms. McCubbin has a degree in Veterinary Science Technology from the State University of New York at Delhi, a Zoology degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and an MBA from Clemson University. She began working with the Academic Success Center and teaching University Success Skills in 2010. In addition to working with students as an Academic Coach, she also teaches Business Foundations. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, hiking in the mountains, reading, knitting and attending sporting events.

Graduate Assistant/Academic Coach
Mr. Kirk graduated from Wake Forest University with his BA in History. Upon graduation, he worked as an Assistant Center Director with Higher Achievement, an academic enrichment program that strives to bridge the opportunity gap for middle school-aged children in at-risk communities in Washington, DC. He is currently obtaining his Masters of Education at Clemson in the Higher Education, Student Affairs program. Outside of work, Matthew can be found laughing with his friends, cooking, debating the finer points of a nonsensical topic or serving at his local church.
Ms. Daine Byers, Administrative Assistant/Receptionist Diane Byers
Ms. Byers is an Administrative Assistant for the Academic Success Center. She holds an Associates Degree from Anderson College. In 1975 Diane came to work full-time at Clemson University until she retired in 2002. Since that time she has worked in various offices offering support as an intermittent employee. In her spare time, Diane enjoys baking and spending time with her family.

Ms. Menefee holds a BS degree in Mass Communications with a double minor in English and Speech/Theatre from MTSU. She is the Administrative Assistant for the ASC. Having worked in various communications roles for TV stations, corporations and nonprofits; she especially enjoys print design and video producing. Amanda loves spending time with her two daughters and other family and friends, as well as reading, theatre, traveling, and playing games.
Ms. Vickie Tollison, Receptionist Vickie Tollison
Ms. Tollison returned to Clemson in June 2011 as Receptionist. She worked in the College of Agriculture from 1986-96. She earned an Associate's Degree in Business/Financial Management from Tri-County Technical College in 1988. Her greatest enjoyment is serving the students who come into our Center seeking information, assistance or support. Vickie loves spending time with her two daughters, boating, gardening, watching sports and socializing with friends.
Ms. Tabitha Harvey, Administrative Coordinator Tabitha Harvey
Ms. Harvey comes to Clemson with 9+ years of HR and Accounting experience. She attended college here at Clemson as well as Tri-County Technical College. She, along with her husband and two children, enjoy dirt track racing as well as Nascar, watching football (especially the Clemson Tigers), and spending as much time together as possible. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and shopping.
Mr. Tom Carnot, Data Analyst Tom Carnot
Mr. Carnot began working at the Academic Success Center in April 2013 as the data analyst. He is a recent graduate of Clemson University, and he has earned both a BS and an MA in Economics. Mr. Carnot assists in the analysis and assessment of the various ASC programs, and he enjoys working with large datasets and crunching numbers. In his free time outside of work, Mr. Carnot enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and dog, traveling, playing video games, and watching sports (especially Clemson football and basketball).

SI Assistant Coordinator
Ms. Honeycutt has a BA in Political Science and Spanish (double major) from Furman University. She began working at the ASC in 2013 as the SI Assistant Coordinator. Courtney enjoys spending her free time with her husband and friends, as well as reading, cooking, and playing games.
