Atlanta First year MRED students visited Atlanta on April 12-13, 2012 for their second development tour of the semester. The two-day tour provided a nice respite from class lectures and projects as the end of the semester approached. MRED students heard about a renewed optimism in most sectors as Atlanta's real estate market is experiencing a steady rebound. Prominent private and public sector professionals hosted a full array of development tours and presentations. Tour stops included presentations by Greg Ryan of IDI and Dan Patillo of Rooker Company at Hamilton Mill Business Center, a tour of Atlanta’s Business District and the Sweet Auburn Historic District by Central Atlanta Progress, a presentation on Atlanta’s Beltline project by CEO Brian Leary, the Campanile renovation by Ridr Knowlton of Dewberry Capital, a walking tour of Glenwood Park by Urbanecco’s Dave Radlmann, the Ponce City Market by Matt Gainey of Green Street Properties, Atlantic Station by Ron Pfohl of North American Properties and John Whitaker (formerly with AIG), Midtown Mile by Steve Baile of Daniel Corporation. and the Streets of Buckhead project by Oliver McMillan’s Brian Lu. The students also attended a reception at White Provisions sponsored by Ernst and Young and Jamestown Properties. Much of the two-day tour was organized by the Clemson Advancement Board members John Whitaker, Greg Ryan, Larry Sweat, Doug Gray and Dan Patillo. These gentlemen were gracious with their time and they deserve a special thank you for their hard work and calls upon friends and colleagues to volunteer as tour hosts.Photographs from the 2012 Atlanta Tour
