American Red Cross Lifeguarding course sponsored by the Department of Campus Recreation.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Lifeguarding Training and First Aid certification as well as CPR/AED certification for the Professional Rescuer, all valid for 2 years.
Cost: $200 for university affiliates; $225 for others.
Payment for all certification courses is non-refundable.
Sign up at the welcome center desk in Fike Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Deadline to register is one week before the first date of the course.
Spring 2015 Dates:
April 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. The registration deadline is by Friday, March 27.
May 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. The registration deadline is Monday, April 27.
The first half of the class will be located in the Fike Lounge, then class moves to the pool for aquatic skill practice and demonstration.
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. The participant must be able to pass a prerequisite swimming skills test on the first class meeting as well as be at least 15 years old by the date of the last session.
