We cannot anticipate every emergency but we have developed some emergency action bulletins to assist members of the campus community deal with many emergency situations appropriately. While it is impossible to produce a document that is all inclusive, these emergency action bulletins address the most common emergencies you are likely to encounter.
Your judgment often determines whether or not an incident is an emergency. If you consider a situation to be an emergency, then it is an emergency and the procedures in these bulletins should be followed. If in doubt, err on the side of safety.
If you have an emergency situation merely dial 911 or (864) 656-2222 from a campus telephone. The University Emergency Dispatcher, Campus Law Enforcement, and Fire and Emergency Medical Services are staffed 24 hours a day for your assistance and protection. These services are provided seven days a week, year round.
Emergency call boxes are placed in various locations around campus. Each box is equipped with a push button that directly dials the University Emergency Dispatcher.
Any questions regarding emergency procedures or these bulletins should be addressed to the Director of Emergency Preparedness and Fire Chief at firstname.lastname@example.org or (864) 656-2322.
