The Gantt Center for Student Life believes that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people should be fully included and affirmed as valued community members throughout Clemson University. The SpeakOUT is a narrative tool, used to engage the Clemson community in a healthy dialogue regarding sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Through personal story-telling, speakers share their experiences in an effort to promote knowledge, compassion, and understanding about LGBTQ people and their allies.
Any Clemson student, faculty, or staff member may request a SpeakOUT. Our volunteers are happy to visit classes, student organizations, residence halls, staff trainings, or various other events. We ask for requests three weeks in advance. To fill out a form, please follow the link below:
We welcome all students, faculty, staff, and alumni to share their story with the Clemson community. We are excited to receive applications from people of all identities, and aim to comprise our panels with people representing lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, ally, and related identities.
All of our Speakers complete a one-time training in narrative storytelling and identity development. To apply for SpeakOUT and register for training, please fill out the follow the link below:
