2014 MLK Celebration Day of Service
The Clemson University MLK Planning Committee would like to extend an invitation to the campus community to participate in our 14th Annual MLK Day of Service. Monday, January 20, 2014 is the state holiday observance of the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and in his honor, Clemson University students, employees and other volunteers will participate in various service projects in the surrounding community.
This year's Day of Service schedule will be as follows:
7:45am - 8:15am - Check-in and Continental Breakfast - Hendrix Student Center David Peebles Room
NOTE: Volunteers checking in after 8:15 am may not be guaranteed to keep the site they signed up for on this website. We will have a site for everyone, however, due to transportation, the site attendees may depart without you if you check in after this time.
8:15am -- Welcome and Dismissal to sites - Hendrix Student Center Ballrooms A&B
8:15am - 9:00am - Travel to Sites (Dismissal will be based upon travel distance to your particular site to be able to arrive at 9:00am)
9:00am - 12:00pm - Service Projects
12:00pm-12:15pm - Travel from Sites
12:15pm - 1:00pm - Lunch and Closing Reflection - Hendrix Student Center Ballrooms A&B
Volunteers should check-in at the Hendrix Student Center David Peebles Room between 8:00am and 8:15am and the Welcome will begin promptly at 8:30am. All volunteers are required to participate in all of the activities for the day. Travel to agencies will be provided.
Listed on the Volunteer Registration Form are the agencies and sites requesting volunteers. There are both on-campus and off-campus sites available. Further information about the agency and the type of work the agency has requested is available by clicking on the agency's name. Please select the site you would like to volunteer and complete your volunteer information. Please note you are only allowed to volunteer at ONE site during the MLK Day of Service.
