Session One: July 11-15 (University Center in Greenville) and July 18-22 (online):
U.S. History
Biology (offsite)
European History
Art History
AP Human Geography

Session Two: July 18-22 (University Center in Greenville) and July 25-29 (online):
World History
AP U.S. Government

Institute Format: All courses meet for one week of face-to-face instruction (no absences allowed) and one week of online instruction (flexible hours during online week). Teachers are required to participate in BOTH parts of the course. It is not possible to only complete the online portion. All of our courses provide teachers with three (3) hours graduate credit in the content discipline. It is not an option to forego graduate credit.

Taking Multiple Institutes: Due to the flexible nature of the online week of the institutes, it is possible to take one institute during each session for a total of two institutes. It is not possible to take two institutes that are taught during the same session.

Registration Fees:
SC Public School Teachers: $300
Out-of-state or Private School Teachers: $500 per course

*Please note that all registrations must be paid for with a credit card or personal e-check. Purchase orders from school districts are not accepted.  In order for a district to pay for a teacher’s registration, the teacher must use the district credit card to register online or get reimbursed by their district following online registration.

Housing and Meals: There is no campus housing available because the institute is housed off campus in Greenville. A block of hotel rooms at the Holiday Inn Express has been reserved for out of town participants. Please call 864-678-5555 for more information.

Registration steps (ALL steps must be completed in this order to reserve a seat in a course):

All Students – you do NOT need to provide transcripts, health records, or register for your course in iRoar – Please ONLY follow the steps below. We will email you by June 1st if you are missing any of the below steps.

For Students New to Non-Degree Seeking Programs at Clemson:

  1. Visit Clemson’s APSI Marketplace registration link: https://secure.touchnet.net/C20569_ustores/web/store_main.jsp?STOREID=67&SINGLESTORE=true Enter your personal information and pay the AP registration fee by credit card or e-check.
  2. Within two weeks of your Marketplace registration, you will receive an email with a link to apply as a non-degree seeking student to the Clemson University Graduate School. You must follow this link and pay the $60 graduate school application fee to confirm your AP registration.
  3. When a decision is made on your application, you will receive an email from the graduate school with a link to the application portal. This is where you will view your decision letter. If accepted to the graduate school, you will see a “Complete Your Decision Form” button within the application portal. Please use this to accept your admittance. Your decision letter will also include information about providing proof of citizenship. These are an important final steps in your registration process in order to receive academic credit.
  4. Set up your Clemson student account and password prior to attending the institute.

*For Returning Non-Degree Students: Must have been enrolled within the past 6 years and does not include enrollment in past undergraduate or graduate degree programs

    Enter your personal information and pay the AP registration fee by credit card or e-check.
  2. Please complete a re-entrance form at http://www.registrar.clemson.edu/pdf/gradReEnroll.pdf and fax to April Bowen at 864-656-2586 or send by email to bowen2@clemson.edu.

**Refund policy: All registration fees are non-refundable. If you fail to complete any registration steps listed above by June 15th, you will lose your spot in the course and all registration fees will be forfeited.

Location: All courses are offered in Greenville at the University Center with the exception of Biology, which will meet at J.L. Mann High School. Detailed information will be emailed to participants in early June.

Packet Pickup: Packet pickup will occur from 7:30-8:30 am on the first Monday of each institute. Please plan on picking up your books and providing appropriate citizenship documentation (copy and original of your passport or birth certificate) during this time.
