Faculty Postions

The Clemson University Department of Automotive Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position.  The appointment is expected to be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor level but candidates with requisite credentials may be considered at the Full Professor level as well.  Candidates with primary interests in ICT-enabled intelligent manufacturing, robotics, high performance manufacturing, vehicle assembly processes, sustainable manufacturing, and manufacturing simulation / virtualization are especially encouraged to apply.  Appropriate industrial experience is desirable but not required.  The starting date for this position is negotiable.  The Department currently has 14 tenure track faculty members including four endowed chairs actively involved in research, teaching, and service.

The Automotive Engineering Program at CU-ICAR offers MS and Ph.D. graduate degrees emphasizing product development and vehicle systems integration.  The program is housed in a dedicated state-of-the-art facility, the Carroll A. Campbell Jr. Graduate Education Center, which is located at the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) in Greenville, South Carolina.  Faculty and students have access to full-scale automotive test equipment, one of the nation’s top academic high speed computing facilities, and advanced materials testing laboratories.  More information about the Department of Automotive Engineering can be found at http://www.clemson.edu/ces/automotiveengineering.
