Instructions for Incoming Students

Welcome! Fall 2013 classes will begin soon. Please read the information below to prepare for the coming academic year.

Instructions for DOMESTIC students
1. Submit your final official-transcript.

2. Accept admission using the Graduate School admissions portal. Return the response form to Lee Davis.

3. All new or transfer students are required to complete the online medical clearance form by July 1 for fall enrollment and December 1 for spring. Click here to view the official policy.

If you do not have all of the proper immunizations before arriving on campus, you are responsible taking care of this before classes begin. See the health information and TigerOne page for details.

In addition, all full-time graduate students will be enrolled in the student health insurance plan. Students who have existing health care coverage should apply for a waiver (see links on left).

4. Register for classes using the iROAR system.
M.S. students - register for AuE 833, 880 and 881 AND either AuE 835 (scheduled to also be offered spring 2014), AuE 893-400 Advanced Vehicle Interface Development or a technical elective, if planning to take AuE 835 in spring 2014
Ph.D. students - register for technical electives and the business class (do not register for AuE 833, 835, 880 and 881)

5. Learn about the area and housing options.

6. Make plans to attend the mandatory orientation on August 16, 19 and 20.

7. Pay student fees and/or tuition.

8. Complete the online submission process for your TigerOne student ID.

9. Students enrolled in AuE 881 must have an iClicker2 device before the first day of class. These will be sold for $50 on the first day of orientation (Aug. 16). Those wishing to buy the iClicker2 at orientation must have exact change and should indicate their interest on this Google doc.  Those who do not purchase the device during orientation should visit the Clemson Computer Store to make the purchase.

10. Review the information regarding medical clearance and TigerOne ID pickup and make arrangements to take care of these items ASAP.

Laptop setup workshops are strongly recommended for all new Clemson students. Our CGEC workshops are only for PC’s, if you have a Mac, and are on campus, please see information regarding Mac setup here.

Instructions for INTERNATIONAL students
1. Submit your final official-transcript.

2. Accept admission using the Graduate School admissions portal.  Return the response form to Lee Davis.

3. After you have accepted admissions, the Graduate School will send your application information to International Services.

4. You must mail a copy of your passport photo page, the IS-50 Financial Certification form, and a copy of a certified bank statement (less than six months old, showing a balance in US dollars) to International Services.

5. You will then be notified via e-mail when your I-20 is ready to be shipped. If the address for your visa is different from the address on your application, please notify international services by e-mail is@clemson.edu.
