College of Health, Education and Human Development

Living-Learning Community

The College of Health, Education, and Human Development has a Living-Learning Community for our freshmen students!

HEHD LLC Mission:

Students selected for this program will create relationships that they will carry with them not only throughout their time at Clemson but also into their careers. It is expected that the students chosen to participate in this program have the potential to be outstanding scholars and leaders not only within the College of HEHD and its professions but also for the greater Clemson student body and the communities in which they will serve after graduation.

The Living-Learning Community will develop leaders through living, learning, serving, and playing together by providing them with:

  • Elect their own governing body to plan, implement & evaluate the social & academic activities for the LLC
  • On-going exposure to future profession and opportunities for professional development
  • Resources and support to help HEHD freshmen to excel academically in their first year on campus
  • A consistent, supportive environment for students to "learn through living" in Clemson House through interaction with faculty and peers and service options
  • Regular contact to other students designed to support professional development.

Students would also be expected to plan, organize, and implement an experience for their community to support and enhance their knowledge of the HEHD learner dispositions. If you are interested in the opportunities the Living-Learning Community offers, please fill out an application. Students must also list our LLC first on the University's application for housing.
