The formal academic preparation of Moore Scholars will mirror that of other students in their same major. The program offers a unique cohort-based approach to the preparation of educators and other professionals. Scholars will engage in weekly co-curricular experiences and are expected to participate in sustained immersive experiences every summer, either on or off the Clemson campus.
Thanks to the generosity of the Moore family, Moore Scholars will be provided with financial assistance each year they are fully inducted into the program. Undergraduate and graduate Scholars will receive summer stipends to support their work during immersive summer experiences.
Each year, scholars will be provided with a developmental progression of co-curricular experiences that expand upon their knowledge of self, society, schooling, and culture, culminating in the sustained immersive experience. These experiences will allow scholars to reflect and develop practices that address social justice issues as they relate to access, opportunity, and equity in order to ensure that all children can receive a quality education.
