It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Clemson University School of Nursing, an exciting environment for learning, practicing, discovering, and working. Our focus on the art and science of nursing embodies our foundation of caring, leadership, scholarship, and community service. Partnerships across the campus and in the community provide a wide variety of settings for learning and scholarship. With advancing technology and an increasingly diverse and aging population, the need for well-educated professional nurses is great.
Our undergraduate program offers direct admission into the nursing major. Graduates consistently exceed national pass rates for the NCLEX-RN 1 censure exam and find positions withen weeks of graduation. For undergraduates, the Clemson campus offers all the advantages of a great university and the opportunity to be involved with students from many majors. Our Clinical Learning and Research Center is one of the finest in the country and allows students to practice events that happen infrequently in the clinical setting and require quick accurate responses for the best outcomes.
Our Accelerated Second Degree nursing program is designed for individuals who have earned a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university and would like to earn a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. This is an intense full time, 16 month rigorous program of study. All prerequisite courses must be completed prior to the start of the program. Classes are held at University Center in Greenville and also on the main campus.
Our RN to BS program accommodates registered nurses in obtaining a BS degree. The program employs a web-enhanced format that allows students the ease and convenience of online learning and the camaraderie of monthly interactive learning activities with faculty and peers. The RN to BS and graduate programs are based at the University Center in Greenville, a unique academic setting which offers state-of-the-art classrooms and easy access with an abundance of free parking.
Our graduate program prepares nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse educators and nurse administrators for enjoying outstanding pass rates on national certification exams. Graduates are in high demand in the region.
Our new Interdisciplinary PhD in Healthcare Genetics is the first in the nation and brings together experts in many fields to prepare future leaders in health policy, ethics, practice and bench science in the field of healthcare genetics. Genetics will potentially have a greater impact on healthcare than any other single discovery.
We share a commitment to improving the world through community service with the University. Faculty and students actively engage in learning through service. Clemson was recognized by The Princeton Review as one of a few select American universities as a “campus with a conscience” for its work in community service.
The School of Nursing values diversity as a key aspect of the learning environment. The Center for Research in Health Disparities partners with other institutions to promote health and well-being. We also value cultural competence through community and international opportunities.
