Clemson PRTM is a nationally-recognized academic department with very strong relationships with national, state and local agencies responsible for managing the nation’s parks and recreation/tourism resources. In fact, the Department has worked with the National Park Service to offer graduate level courses to NPS leaders as well as worked with the Graduate School and Office of International Affairs to bring graduate education to international students. Responding to a call for an on-line M.S. option for practitioners in the field who recognize the prestige of the Clemson degree, the Clemson University Department of PRTM will launch its new on-line M.S. (non-thesis) degree in the fall of 2012.
The on-line M.S. (non-thesis) in PRTM consists of 30 credit hours of on-line coursework. The M.S. non-thesis contains 4 core classes, 1 class in management, and 4 concentration classes. In addition, all students will be required to complete a 3 credit hour culminating project. The three concentration areas that will be offered for the M.S. non-thesis degree will be Travel and Tourism, Parks and Conservation Areas Management, and Community Recreation Management.
