HEHD Support Services

HEHD Support Services:

Additional Resources

As with any major organization, support services are the quintessential cogs in the mechanism; they are the people behind the scenes who make everything run smoothly.

Whether it’s academic advice, quelling an uncooperative computer or resource management, those associated with the College of Health, Education, and Human Development support services work for all students, faculty and staff throughout the College.

They are the ones who maintain Websites, assure audio/visual success and know exactly which form to file.  They counsel parents and students on proper courses of action. They know where to find that which is needed and know how to get it when it’s not there.

Academic Advising Center

HEHD Academic Advising Center The HEHD Academic Advising Center was organized to assist undergraduate students in the college with a variety of academic services. Academic advisors are available to assist freshmen, sophomore, change of major, and transfer students. Academic advisement, course selection, transferability of courses, and completion of various academic forms take place in this office.

For Education majors, the HEHD Academic Advising Center is responsible for maintaining EEE/PPST, PKE, and NTE scores and for reviewing each student's record for admittance to the professional level of the Teacher Education Program. In addition, the office processes student recommendation forms for teacher certification and forwards these forms to the Office of Professional Development at the SC State Department of Education. Signature approval for the South Carolina Teacher Loan Program may be obtained through this office.

Academic advisors are also available to meet with prospective students considering various majors within the College. Prospective students are encouraged to make appointments with an advisor in their intended major.  Academic Advising Center Website

Using established policies and procedures, they use technology to support grant-based research by configuring the specifications for a research server to house the data according to the guidelines dictated by the grant.

For faculty, staff and students machines, they automate features on their computers for virus scan/security updates and Microsoft Office/Windows security updates. They assist with the use of software applications that are used by anyone in the college.
