Study and Meeting Rooms – Cooper Library
Group study and meeting rooms are available on the 1st and 2nd floors of Cooper Library. Priority for use of these rooms is for groups of 2 or more people. Study and meeting rooms are not provided for, nor intended to take the place of classroom or departmental meeting space.
With the exception of rooms 103 and 201A, rooms are open for groups to use on a first come first serve basis when not reserved. Room 103 can be reserved only by Library employees and Cooper Library tenants Monday – Friday during the hours of 7:30am – 5:00pm. Room 201A, the Sigma Alpha Zeta Presentation Practice Room, can be reserved any time by students.
Only Clemson students, faculty, and staff with a valid Clemson email address and ID can reserve study and meeting rooms. Room reservations for all study rooms are accepted up to two weeks in advance and must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Reservations are for a maximum of two hours and are limited to one reservation per day. Confirmation of reservation will be sent via email and should be used as proof of valid reservation.
Group study room users without reservations must vacate the room when requested by a group with proof of valid reservation.
Personal materials and library books may NOT be left unattended in the group study rooms while users are in class or away for extended periods of time. Materials and personal items left unattended will be removed. Library books that are not checked out will be returned to the shelves.
REMEMBER: Be sure and keep the door closed when your group is in a room studying. If the door is open, your conversation can drift out into the silent zones and disturb others trying to study.

Color-coded study zones have been established for every floor. See posted maps on each floor for zone locations. Red = silent (no talking); yellow = quiet (whispered conversations); green = collaborative (talking quietly). Patrons are asked to be considerate of others and follow the guidelines for the zones.
Staff and security will monitor noise levels and respond to problems appropriately. In severe cases, the Clemson University Police Department will be called to assist.
