ECE Professor Jennifer Dy Awarded $1.2M Interdisciplinary NSF CyberSEES Grant
The National Science Foundation has awarded ECE Professor Jennifer Dy (PI) and Co-PIs Aidong Ding (Math), Tarik Gouhier (MES), and Auroop Ganguly (CEE) a four-year $1.2 million Cyber-Innovation for Sustainability Science and Engineering (CyberSEES) grant. Their interdisciplinary project spans two colleges and four departments and is entitled "SEA-MASCOT: Spatio-temporal Extremes and Associations: Marine Adaptation and Survivorship under Changes in extreme Ocean Temperatures." Dr. Asanterabi Malima receives Entrepreneur Award from Mass. Gov. Deval Patrick
As part of Africa Week in the state, Dr. Asanterabi Malima (ECE PhD '13) was recognized on June 18 by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and presented with the Entrepreneur Award. This award is given to an individual who has contributed to the economic well-being and vitality of their community including growth of business and employment opportunities. Dr. Malima is currently a postdoctoral research associate in Northeastern’s Center for Highrate Nanomanufacturing, and the President of Biolom, a two-year old biotech/nanotech firm that is commercializing a new, highly-senstive sensor that can be used diagnose cancer.

CE PhD Student William Tomlinson Featured in Prism Magazine Cover Story
CE PhD student William Tomlinson is featured in the Summer 2014 issue of the American Society for Engineering Education's Prism Magazine. The article, "Survival Course," discusses the low rates of black men in engineering and highlights Tomlinson's success in beating the odds.

ECE & CCIS Assistant Professor Y. Raymond Fu received a highly competitive $240K DOD Defense University Research Instrumentation Program (DURIP) Research Equipment award for major equipment for his SMILE lab. June 2, 2014
