Collegiate Assessment of
Academic Proficiency

Every student completing an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of General Studies degree from Cowley College is required to take the CAAP (Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency) assessment in three of the following areas: English, Math, Critical Thinking, and Reading.

The assessment should be taken in the semester in which the student plans to graduate.

Completion of these assessments is a requirement for graduation for AA, AS, and AGS degree seeking students.

Instructions for information about testing dates and signing up for a test are posted below. Testing will be conducted at the Arkansas City and Mulvane locations.

There is no charge for this assessment. Registration for the CAAP assessment should be completed as early as possible, preferably at the time of enrollment.

Registration may be completed through your academic advisor or online through Campus Connect as follows:

  1. Log on to Campus Connect.
  2. Go to "Academic Options" and select "Add/Drop Classes".
  3. Click on the appropriate term (semester).  Select “Non-Credit Classes Only” in the pull down options.  In the "Department" pull down menu select "Non-Credit: CAAP & WorkKeys Testing.
  4. Select the location, time and date for the session you wish to enroll in and click on "Add."
    Locations include Arkansas City and Mulvane.
