Verification Policy
For Federal Aid Recipients
All students selected by the Central Processing System (CPS) will be verified 100%. Any student with an asterisk beside their EFC number on the Student Aid Report (SAR) has been selected. Those students will be asked to provide Federal Tax Returns, W-2's, documentation of all untaxed income such as social security benefits, SRS cash assistance, child support received and/or paid out or any other benefit type received as income in the required tax year. A Cowley County Financial Aid Data Form (blue form) and a Verification Worksheet will need to be completed. These two forms are provided by the Financial Aid Office. The student’s High School Transcript, GED or Home School Diploma will be required in the file as well. If the student does not have a High School Diploma, GED, or Home School Diploma completed in the United States, the student will be required to complete and pass the Ability to Benefit Test with our Assessment Center to complete the verification process.
The Financial Aid Office will inform the student in person or by mail of what items will be needed to complete the verification process for their file.
The Financial Aid Office reserves the right to select any file for verification that appears to have conflicting or incorrect information listed.
Students may turn in paperwork to complete their files in person, by mail or by fax to the following location:
