Governor's Office purchases painting by Cowley art instructor

Cedars and Snow
Cowley College art instructor Mark Flickinger has had several accomplishments during his career as an artist, he can now add having a painting of his being hung in the Governor’s mansion to that list.

Flickinger’s oil painting titled “Cedars and Snow” was recently purchased by the Governor’s Office. Along with the painting being displayed in the Governor’s mansion, the painting was also used as the Christmas card, which the Governor’s Office sent out to more than 28,000 homes world wide.

“I am very pleased that the Governor (Kathleen Sebelius) wanted to use the image for their Christmas card,” Flickinger said.

Flickinger’s painting, which he finished in April, was based off of property his family owns near Silverdale. He was also invited to attend the Christmas party at the Governor’s mansion.
