Cowley's Mr. Cinderfella set for April 28
An evening of entertainment, complete with Miss Kansas, is what $2 will get you when Cowley College presents the 17th Annual Mr. Cinderfella Pageant April 28 in the Robert Brown Theatre inside the Brown Center.
Tickets may be purchased at the door for the 7:30 p.m. show, which will feature approximately 18 Cowley male students, or from the Humanities Office, lower level of the Brown Center. Megan Bushell, Miss Kansas 2004, will continue the tradition and emcee the event.
The contestants will compete in beach/leisure wear, talent, and eveningwear. Three female judges, not announced until the night of the show, will rate each contestant. The man with the most points at the end of the night is crowned Mr. Cinderfella.
Devin Woods of Manhattan, now a student at Wichita State University, won the coveted title in 2004 and will be on hand April 28 to crown his successor.
Bushell, who earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in music, magna cum laude, from WSU, wants to work as a performer, recording artist and businesswoman in the music industry. Her platform as Miss Kansas is “Breaking the Silence Around Domestic Violence.”
She helped raise more than $6,000 for Harbor House, where she is a trained volunteer. She also helped raise $10,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through volunteer efforts with Delta Delta Delta.
Bushell, 22, is a 2004 honor graduate of WSU. She earned two degrees, majoring in entrepreneurship and music business, in four years and considered a masters in music business at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., following her year of service as Miss Kansas. At WSU, she was on the Dean’s Honor Roll, a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and the first female Jabara Entrepreneurship scholar.
Bushell, the daughter of Don and Barbara Bushell of Lawrence, is a graduate of Kapaun Mount Carmel High School in Wichita.
