Cowley selects students to be ambassadors for next academic year

Eighteen students have been selected to represent Cowley College’s Arkansas City campus as Student Ambassadors for the 2006-2007 academic year.

Ben Schears, admissions coordinator, said trimming the list of students to 18 from the 109 who were nominated was not easy.

“This is the fourth group of ambassadors I have had a chance to work with and this was the most difficult decision making process we have had to deal with,” Schears said. “We had really good candidates, and have got some very good student ambassadors.”

Student Ambassadors must be full-time Cowley students with a cumulative 3.0 grade-point average or higher.

Ambassadors are required to work two hours per week in the Admissions Office, performing various tasks, including answering the switchboard, giving campus tours, or making photocopies. They also are required to work special events such as New Student Orientation, Senior Day, Phone-a-Thon, Principal-Counselor Day, and Cowley’s College Planning Conference.
