Cowley signs articulation agreement with Washburn University

Cowley College students will have even more opportunities to earn four-year degrees without ever having to leave campus, as Cowley and Washburn University recently signed an articulation agreement.

The agreement makes it possible for Cowley College graduates to earn five different degrees from Washburn. The degrees that can be completed at Washburn following a student receiving an associates degree at Cowley are, a Bachelor of Applied Science and Technology Administration, Bachelor of Science and Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Services, Bachelor of Integrated Studies, and a Bachelor of Health Science.

In order to earn a Bachelor of Health Science degree, the student must have earned an associates degree in the Allied Health Field from Cowley College. They must also be credentialed in an Allied Health specialty.

“This agreement allows students to come to Cowley and complete their bachelor’s degree without ever having to leave the area,” said Chris Cannon, Cowley College director of EMS Education.

Cowley College president Dr. Patrick J. McAtee along with Cowley’s vice president of academic affairs, Slade Griffiths, played vital roles in making the articulation agreement a reality.

“Slade and Dr. Pat (McAtee) did a great job getting this done,” Cannon said.

Cannon also praised the work done by Washburn University president Jerry Farley and Dean of enrollment management Al Dickes.
