Category: Department News, Faculty News, Uncategorized

(Top Left) University of Florida ISE & Warrington alum and President & Founder of Voalte, Mr. Trey Lauderdale, gave an inspirational speech at the 2017 Spring Banquet on April 14th. He has helped grow Voalté since its inception in 2008, and led the sales organization in deploying thousands of smartphone solutions in some of the country’s top hospitals. Trey’s healthcare industry knowledge stems from experience with leading companies such as Siemens and Emerging. (Top Right) CONGRATULATIONS to ISE’s very own, Dr. Yongpei Guan. Dr. Guan was awarded the Preeminence Term Professorship.  This professorship observes UF’s commitment to invest in faculty members whose work is transforming lives. (Bottom Left) Congratulations to our 2017 ISE Award Winners; (pictured) Sebastian Restrepo, Shital Kasabwala, Heather Nemeth, Lucy Toman, (not pictured) Lien Nguyen, Meredith Hendren, & Matthew Norton. (Bottom Right) The UF Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center selected UF ISE’s Sheldon Barrett to represent UF in the 2017 Governor’s Cup at Florida Gulf Coast University on Friday, March 31st, 2017. He displayed his invention, the Cocovana Coconut Twist.  This device makes the tedious task of opening coconuts a breeze. The competition featured 9 top Florida Universities, and by swiftly showcasing his talent, Barrett won the competition.
