Retired federal Judge Vaughn Walker of the Northern District of California was the inaugural Conversations Across the Curriculum speaker. Walker was the trial judge in the California marriage equality case, Perry v. Brown, challenging California’s Proposition 8, which limited marriage to heterosexual couples only.

Benjamin H. Hill, III. received the Outstanding Service Award from the American Bar Foundation Fellows on February 7th. Hill said he’s honored to be part of UF Law’s alumni network, which he described as having done “so much for our state and the various communities within our state.” Read the whole story.
