Alumni mentors can help “bridge the gap” between a student’s academic career and professional career. Alumni mentors are not being asked to provide jobs, but rather to communicate with graduating 3Ls as they transition from student life to their professional careers. Mentors can assist with offering guidance about geographical areas or specific practice areas. Providing a couple of hours of practical advice or connecting a student to a couple of employment leads can make a tremendous difference in a student’s career.
Help spread the word about how your colleagues can help hire Gators. Many of our students are interested in jobs outside of the traditional large firm environment. Incredible opportunities exist with small and mid-sized firms, government agencies and business organizations. Your willingness to provide your colleagues with information about our programs will allow us to better serve the legal community and will greatly expand opportunities for students. By serving on the Legal Employer Outreach Team, you will create invaluable employment leads for new graduates. This will provide the opportunity to make a big impact on the law school for a minimal amount of your time. If you are interested in becoming part of the Legal Employer Outreach Team, please register here.
