Faculty in the spotlight: Paul Magnarella

Professor Paul Magnarella has won the Association of Third World Studies’ 2000 annual book award for his book Justice in Africa: Rwanda’s Genocide, Its National Courts and the UN Criminal Tribunal. His article, “Promoting Peace, Human Rights and National Security: Focus on Sub-Saharan Africa,” appears in the current issue of Social Justice, Anthropology, Peace and Human Rights. He also moderated a panel on “Ethical Issues in Field Research among the Yanomami” sponsored by the president of the American Anthropological Association in response to the controversial book Darkness in El Dorado by Patrick Tierney.
