Expert to address how e-discovery competence can enhance career opportunities

Baron_Jason For the second installment of the ICAIR E-Discovery Project Speaker Series, UF Law students will have the opportunity to learn how becoming competent in e-discovery can enhance their career opportunities, from private practice to government work.

Jason R. Baron, of counsel with the Information Governance and E-Discovery Group at Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP, Washington, D.C., will present “Enhancing Your Career Options: What Does it Mean to be Technologically Competent in E-Discovery?” Monday, Jan. 27, 1-2 p.m. in the Martin H. Levin Advocacy Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Students are also invited to attend a free lunch catered by Moe’s, featuring an informal discussion with Baron in the Faculty Dining Room before the lecture, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Students are welcome to attend both the lunch and lecture, but can choose to attend one or the other.

In addition to discussing the benefits of maximizing e-discovery skills, Baron will discuss his long career in government service, including his experiences in e-discovery as director of litigation at the National Archives and Records Administration, managing such projects as the government’s document production in cases involving White House emails, including tobacco litigation. He will also address his recent transition to private practice.
