On December 18, 2012, the team of Stephanie Malen (3L) and Paul D’alessandro, Jr. (3L) earned a seat in the ABA Tax Challenge Semifinals. The initial round of the competition required the team to submit of a memorandum and client letter presenting a solution to a complex tax planning problem. As part of the semifinals, held on Friday, January 25, 2013 in Orlando, Florida, the team will present before a panel of judges its solution to this problem.
On February 4, 2012, the Florida Tax Moot Court Team placed second at the Florida Bar Tax Section National Tax Moot Court competition in Clearwater, Florida. The team members included Michael Bruno (3L), Adam Smith (3L) and Zachary Ritz (2L). The Florida Tax Moot Court Team also placed first in this competition in 2011 and looks forward to making a run for the title again in February 2013.
