As one of the top 100 collegiate athletic programs in the nation, Northeastern excels in a number of sports. The University fields 18 varsity teams in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I sports, as well as other teams and individuals in national and international arenas. Nicknamed the Huskies, our varsity teams are among the most successful in New England, winning numerous league championships and NCAA playoff berths in recent years, and hosting some of the biggest collegiate events.
Try any of nearly 40 intramural and club teams in sports that range from lacrosse and rugby to ultimate Frisbee and badminton. Each year, over 3000 students participate in intramural or club sports.

The Marino Recreation Center offers a variety of fitness equipment, basketball courts, a Treadwall that simulates rock climbing, aerobics and physical-fitness classes, free weights, weight machines, and a suspended running track.
The Cabot Center offers indoor facilities for racquetball, volleyball, tennis, and soccer, as well as a running track, swimming pool, and driving range.
Full-time Northeastern students have access to the Badger and Rosen SquashBusters Facility when they are enrolled in classes or enrolled in their co-op experience and have paid the campus recreation fee.
Husky fans are everywhere! More than 98% of students attend a sporting event each year in support of their favorite teams. The popular NCentives program is a great way to keep track of Husky points to win NU Gear and other prizes - just for supporting the Huskies!
