Experiential Learning & Co-op
Students in our college have access to world-class hospitals and research centers, and the resources of a world-class city. And they also know how much they can learn from the world beyond Boston and the United States.
In addition to Northeastern's study abroad programs spread across more than 20 countries, Bouvé students engage with the world and make in-depth connections with other cultures and nations through co-ops, service learning, research, and special outreach opportunities.
Our pharmacy students have helped the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists initiate a pilot program in Tanzania to improve health care through education and the dispensation of medicines for common illnesses such as cholera and malaria. Physical therapy students have combined service with global learning by volunteering at far-flung hospitals like Hospital Guastavo Fricke, a public institution in Vina del Mar, Chile. And nursing students have added breadth to their classroom studies through faculty-led travel programs to examine nursing practices overseas in order to understand and improve upon patient care at home.
With the whole world open to Bouvé students, the possibilities are endless.
