Direct Entry Nursing (MS) - Online Option

Overview

Northeastern's new online direct entry nursing program allows you to use the degree and experience that you already have and leverage it into a BSN and master’s degree in nursing in a compressed period of time.

For students who already possess a baccalaureate degree in afield other than nursing, the Online Direct Entry Nursing program offers the opportunity to become a masters-prepared nurse with a specialization in Nursing Administration.

Sixteen months of nursing-specific courses prepare students to sit for the national licensure examination (NCLEX-RN). A total of 64 credit hours are required to complete the BSN portion of the program. This portion is followed by 40 hours of in-depth, advanced courses for the MS Administration/Leadership degree.

The Online Direct Entry program utilizes an online learning format. The interactive learning methodology aids learning, increases comprehension, and is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week—comprehensive and convenient.

Subject-specific, custom designed learning activities are integrated into the online learning environment to support clinical practice. These activities allow students to learn, practice and demonstrate comprehension in the comfort of their own home, any time of the day.

Experiential Learning

The program uses a concurrent clinical model. The Bouvé College of Health Sciences has an extensive network of clinical affiliations at health centers, major teaching hospitals, and community hospitals.

You will gain exposure to primary care, surgery, pediatrics, geriatrics, oncology, cardiothoracic care, and more. This is intended to give you a broad overview and show you how to approach patient care from a health perspective.
