Northeastern opened doors of opportunity for Jim Turner, LA’71, through a co-op assignment at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington, DC. Today, in appreciation for the education and experiences that paved the way for a successful career, he supports The Northeastern Fund and scholarships for African-American students.

“I support Northeastern because I feel it is my responsibility to give back. Not only did I receive a great education at Northeastern, but my co-op experiences led me to the field that I am in today.” Turner is a retired senior executive for the US Department of Labor and currently, director of Global Diversity for The Boeing Company. He is a corporator for the Northeastern Corporation.

Thanks to the matching gift program at the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial jets, he doubles the impact of his generosity. “It was simple to implement. I told Boeing about my gift and they happily matched my donation.”
