A Part of Northeastern's Future

The logic of parents Darryl and Mariko Wong has always been to expose their three children to the wide world, in little doses, and in as varied environments as possible.

To help them gain “street smarts”, The Wong parents encouraged their children to leave home in Newport Beach, California for east-coast schools. Ensuring that the “book smarts” were honed, their two sons Kevin (’09), and Brian (’12) attended Northeastern, where both have been exposed to a wide-range of subjects and activities, including service projects to help those in need.

Selflessness is a character trait that runs through the entire Wong family. Over the years, Darryl and Mariko have graciously supported the Library and Presidential priorities.

As parents of Northeastern students, Darryl and Mariko are life-long members of the Northeastern family. Their generosity, along with the generosity of many other parents, helps Northeastern continue its upward trajectory of excellence in experiential education, research, and service.

“Students graduating from Northeastern have invested their college education, time, money, and efforts in this school. I would like to see the value of that diploma grow over the years,” said Mr. Wong.  “It’s part of our value system . . . to give the most we can for our children’s education.”

Mr. Wong is founder and president of D. Wong and Associates, a real estate investment firm located in Los Angeles, California, and owner of Speed Wong Racing, one of the largest race car teams on the West Coast.
