On-site Orientation

Home > Australia > On-site Orientation

Upon arrival at the residence halls at Swinburne University of Technology (SUT), Australia participants receive a packet of important information, including an orientation schedule, campus map, and other logistical information such as an academic calendar, preliminary excursion information, and details about local neighborhood resources and services.

On-site Orientation typically begins two days after arrival, allowing the students to adjust to the time difference and new surroundings over the weekend. The orientation spans the entire first week in Australia and incorporates academics, policies and expectations, social activities, cultural excursions, and logistical information. Students will attend On-site Orientation alongside other international students attending SUT for the first time.

Below, students are engaged in The Amazing Race, an SUT-sponsored scavenger hunt throughout Melbourne, during which they begin to find their way around the city, while having fun, and getting to know each other!
