Meals Provided by Homestay Families
Homestay families provide breakfast and dinner five days per week. Three meals a day will be provided on weekends and holidays.

Additional Meals & Food
Students are responsible for purchasing all meals outside of the host family offerings. Most students buy lunch in the on-campus cafes at ULatina for approximately $6 USD each day. Additionally, students must budget accordingly so that they are prepared to purchase their own meals while traveling independently, on social outings, and whenever any other individualized need for extra snacks, coffee,or beverages outside of the house, arises.

Pictured to the right is "casado," a very typical Costa Rican dish consisting of rice, black beans, plantains, salad, and either chicken, beef, pork, or fish.
