On-site Orientation

Home > Greece > On-site Orientation

ACT and Greece staff coordinate airport pick up for the Group Flight as well as some independent traveler flights. Upon arrival to the hotel, participants receive an arrival pack including maps, basic information about how to navigate the city, and other details about the hotel and neighborhood. Additionally, students participate in neighborhood walking tours, purchase a local cell phone as a group, and engage in team building activities with the staff and fellow participants.

During a three-day orientation, students are introduced to ACT services, academic resources, financial matters, student activities, and Service-Learning opportunities.  Orientation also includes a campus tour, a comprehensive acculturation workshop, a 'survival Greek' session, a city tour, group meals, cultural activities such as an evening of life music and dance, a trip to neighborhood shops to purchase any needed supplies, and a day trip to Vergina.
