Freshman Program
It is mandatory for all students who begin in the fall to attend a two-day orientation session before they start at Northeastern. Student orientation includes the opportunity to have two complimentary guests participate in the Parent Program, which runs simultaneously to the Student Program.

Early Arrival Option
Students coming from a distance may elect to arrive early to summer orientation at no extra expense. You will have this option when registering. Participants receive an additional overnight accommodation and meal (prior to 7pm) for the night before your orientation session.
Please note: For those who have chosen the Early Arrival option, check-in time is from 5:00pm-9:00pm in the respective locations. See locations below.
Check-In Time and Location
All students should check in at Stetson West residence hall lobby from 7:00-7:45am on the first day of the program. It is mandatory that all students stay overnight in the residence hall. Check out begins at 3pm the following day. Please note that check out time can vary upon completion of the student's academic advising. For those making travel arrangements by plane, it is not recommended to book a flight leaving Boston prior to 6pm.
All guests attending the Parent and Family Orientation Program and staying on campus should check in at the West Village E lobby. Guests not staying on campus should check in at the Stetson West residence hall lobby with your student. Please note: Guest housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Limited housing is available. Preregistration and payment is required.
International Students
In addition to participating in New Student Orientation that precedes the start of the semester, international students are also invited to take part in a comprehensive introductory program hosted by the International Student and Scholar Institute (ISSI). Activities include cultural enrichment programming, information sessions, immigration advising, regional excursions, intercultural/diversity education seminars, and workshops on topics ranging from academic success to student life.
