Veterans on Campus
Northeastern University is proud of a long history of supporting its students and alumni who have answered the call to duty and served our nation. In addition to the services listed below, we also provide additional orientation sessions to help veterans acclimate to academic and social life at Northeastern.
- Student Activities: Students may choose from a variety of organizations and groups that may match their personal interests. Northeastern has also created a Veteran’s Group to promote awareness, sponsor events and/or gain an organized voice at the university. ( http://www.northeastern.edu/studentactivities)
- Financial Aid and Registration Assistance: Our offices of the Registrar and Student Financial Services work closely together to be sure that veterans understand how to ensure their course enrollments align with their specific government benefit programs. - Housing: Live on-campus in placement near other veterans or work with our off-campus office to identify common living areas in the neighborhoods surrounding campus. ( http://www.northeastern.edu/reslife)
- Athletics: Join any number of intramural team sports, make good use of our on- campus fitness centers and join fellow Husky Fans in the 'Doghouse' at sporting events both on and off-campus. ( http://www.campusrec.neu.edu; http://www.gonu.com)
- Physical/Emotional Support: Through University Health and Counseling you may receive routine care or participate in ongoing support groups for issues like the transition to college, grief counseling or PTSD. ( http://www.northeastern.edu/uhcs)
- Support for Academics: Explore living/learning communities, learn about tutoring and support services at the Disabilities Resource Center and the Learning Disabilities Program as well as the general tutoring programs available in each of our colleges.
